Yes the Boston Bruins are only 5 points (2 wins, 1 OT loss) out of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs as of Monday. But they’ll have to wait till Thursday’s game against the Capitals for this race to begin. The playoffs are coming quickly and I think the 6-3 win over the Red Wings Sunday afternoon indicated that the Bruins are ready to jump on the playoff train.

Today Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli recalled foward Jeff Hoggan and sent David Krejci to Providence. To me this is a good move, the Bruins are heading towards the playoffs and they need a gritty player that can help the team with assists and maybe a goal or two. Krejci doesn’t cut it. He can skate really good but does not do anything to help the Bruins in their situation heading towards the playoffs.
